2011: Advancing C.W. Industries to Endless Possibilities
This year, more than ever, one thing is clear: We at C.W. Industries are committed to further improve our customer satisfaction. We understand that by working hard to upgrade our resources, we are equipping ourselves to provide better top notch service to the various industries we are in.
Since the last quarter of 2010, C.W. Industries has started upgrading its manpower capability by employing supervisors, welders and mechanics who have a vast amount of expertise and experience in their portfolio. Added to the team in Long Beach as a rig division supervisor is Kyle Reed, who for 20 years has been a key player in oilfield trucking and crane services. Added to the team in Bakersfield are senior mechanics Dave Makela and David Kates, who are both with 40+ years of experience working with oilfield drilling rigs and production equipments. Also new to the team in both locations are several pipe and structural welders who hold current certification from ASME (for pipe) and AWS/LA City (for structural). For hiring of pipe welders, C.W. Industries has started the implementation of 6G position ASME qualification tests with radiographic examination. All of the new pipe welders have passed this strenuous assessment.
At the start of 2011, C.W. Industries began the upgrades for its Long Beach and Bakersfield facilities. The Long Beach plant received a new hydraulic ironworker and a new vertical saw to further enhance its production capacity. Also, new electrical supply lines were installed to provide power to new welding machines for the fabrication shops. The Bakersfield plant will be a powerhouse production and repair facility this year. Aside from having a new horizontal saw, ironworker and shear equipments, and new welding machines, the facility will undergo an immense renovation that will extend the shop floor area by 11,250 square feet, of which 7,500 square feet will be under an overhead crane way.
Part of C.W. Industries’ improvements for the year is the Safety Program. Headed by our safety managers Don Anderson and Anthony Esparza, we are training and certifying more people in various safety courses to raise awareness on the importance of eliminating injuries in every workplace or jobsite. The training given was for refinery safety, confined space entry/retrieval, site specific EHS, swing rope and forklift operation.
For 2011, it is the goal of C.W. Industries to supersede the industry standards for quality, safety and performance, pushing its capabilities as a steel construction company to exceed customer expectation, open new opportunities and discover new possibilities.
